Waffle Pods Slab System
The Waffle Pod Footing system is an innovative method for constructing concrete slabs that has been available for several years. It offers exceptional strength and durability while significantly reducing building costs. By creating ‘on-ground’ rather than ‘in-ground’ slabs, the system eliminates the need for extensive—and often costly—excavation.
Environmentally friendly by design, waffle pod slabs are built using polystyrene void formers arranged in a grid pattern, with reinforcing placed between and above. Concrete is then poured to fill the spaces, forming a continuous slab across the entire area. The gaps between the void formers act as concrete beams or ribs, resulting in a slab of remarkable structural integrity.
As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, any unused waffle pods can be returned to us for recycling or reuse by the manufacturer.
